SD card cover

I never take out the print bed so I made this to keep things out of the sd card slot very happy with it

Look great!

Be careful, though. Another critical part to protect from the plastic debris is the ball screw. It is pretty open on the top and if you don’t remove the platform, small debris can fly in there when scraping. Maybe we should come up with a little deflector for the ball screw…?

I don’t know what you mean what is the ball screw?

@Clark - your SD card cover is very clever solution, I like it so much

On this picture you can see what is the ball screw:

thank you Rafal

What happens if the plastic get into the screw ?

Maybe “Crouiiiikk”… or something like that, IMO

Look here…

Ball screw nut

You don’t want any pieces of plastic go in there (where the knife tip is pointing)

Here you go. I’ll upload to Thingiverse later tonight.

Awesome, Kyle!!!

This just sparks another idea… With just the right length of this cover you would have a nice “damage preventing spacer” in case the calibration would ever fail (no electrical contact between tip and platform)

Thanks Andre… It is a pretty close fit… Here ya go… http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:256073

Hey Clark I printed your SD cover. Works great!!! One thing though. You might want to turn the back plate around. If you have a tall print, the Z carriage that holds heated bed will hit it. I also glued mine on to give more clearance. Use “3M plastic emblem and trim adhesive”. Part #03601 Got it at Autozone for $6

Looks good, Yes I noticed that it was a little big after I put mine on, so I went into the file and made it smaller but I must not made it small enough

I just trimmed mine down with a razor knife

Kyle I jest down loaded your file for the Ball screw nut I will give that a go ASAP thank you for doing that

Kyle I noticed that you put the pack part of the hinge backwards from the way i designed it but it look like it work so all is good
