That is the only area I have found lacking in DS... Did you try opening file using the button on top bar next to import PCB? That gives you the option to load SKP files..
Guy, from sketchup, you need to export in an old version. Don't remember if it's 7 or 8. Then it opens perfectly in DS.
That's what I'm doing : text in sketchup, then import in DS.
Thanks Kyle and Ted for the tips. I found an older version of Sketchup and entered some text, then saved it. DS found the file and loaded it and saved it as an .stl file. Z-Suite took it OK and your suggestions were very helpful.
