So this has happened to me before on a smaller print where it wasn't a huge deal, but considering this is a much larger and longer print I'd like some details as to why this happens.
I need to print a large disc, and to help details show I’ve split it in two and printed both halves on their sides, so they both print upwards to a point. These two halves have grid lines across their entire surface, and Z-Suite shows these lines at the 9-10 2-3 o’clock positions, but they gradually fade out as it approaches 12 o’clock. You can see it in the attached picture.
Is there any way to stop this from happening other than “extruding” the details even more?
What resolution/layer height are you using? For something like that, you need a fine resolution to minimize stairstepping.
In the attached pic, 0.14mm using Z-Ultrat but I've tried it with 0.09mm as well with the same effect.
can you get me STL and ZCODE? I will look into it.
I've attached the 0.19mm print zcode with the STL file I used, but I sliced it in z-suite so you'll have to do something similar yourself to get the same orientation.
