You should turn the printer off immediately when it crashes.
Check if there is any damage on the pins of the smaller platform connector or if they touch each other. That would explain the strange behaviour of your printer. You might have accidentally damaged the pins with spatula.
Well for one the nozzle is not contacting the pads so the issue is not in the Z-Axis (Build plate) but in the X and Y (Gantry). Have you tried to re-lube the linear rods since you bought the machine? Have you checked the end stops, sometimes the light strip will fall down and get in the way of the end stop and the printer contact part in the X-Axis (front of the printer). Those are the most common issues I have seen with what you are dealing with.

At first look i didn't see a problem in this, but I spent a cutter in between the pins and voila!, the problem has solved!
