Clicking noise

I have noticed my Zortrax at certain points of the Xy displacement over the right side zone almost near the center is producing a clicking noise I have search for ti and it looks it cames out of the bearing mounting. when the rods are turning. In fact it can be listened in four corners.

Has anyone experienced this?

I'm shooting a video of the issue, will post it and also send it to support. But before that I would lke to know about you.

During mounting you need push down the motoro and tight 4 screw, is required for the belt tension.

Thanks for posting that prcedure Mark.  Did those pictures come from Zortrax or did you take them?

What number did you use Loctite?  648?

I suspect we have the same problem.

Does it sound like this?

did any one figure out what it is? Im having this problem now too!!

Is this an all plastic gear pulley? Is the threaded boss where you insert the grubscrews made of plastic or is it aluminium? If they are plastic it may be worth the while to replace them with aluminium, they are standard of the shelf products, cost very little. Look at the belt to find the pitch and type (The belt is probably T3 or something, haven't checked) and count the teeth on the pulley. Aluminium pulleys have a closer fit between hole and spindle. The grubscrew can be tightened up with a higher preload thus preventing slipping between motorspindle and pulley.

Or you can file a small flat on the motorspindle for the grubscrew to rest on, that will solve it.

All the gears are aluminium i have the V4 printer. So the problem is the grubscrew on the stepper motor?

also the clicking only happens sometimes and it seems to happen more often when the extruder is on the left side of the printer. The sound sounds like is coming from the front left bearing. But not sure

Can someone watch this video and listen for the noise. It only happens in the front left corner.

Is the noise at 0.35?

Try to turn your machine off, see if you get the noise when you move the head manually to front left. Then it might be easier to see what is causing the noise.

So I did try it manually and i think its sound like its in the top left corner but im not 100% sure also prints dont look so good any more. Will post pics

That is really loud… Do you see any wear on the sides of the belts? I wonder if the belt runs up the sidewall of the pulley and snaps back down…making a noise?

Check for axial play in the guide rods.

all the belts are good not loose. So i have been sitting here for like 30 mins and it has not made the sound one time and some times it does it alot! I lost on what i could be so after the print is done witch is soon gonna check pullys on steppers and the metal guide rods check all belts and see if i find anything. Other wise octive will be fixing it
