Up dating my Zortrax printer I put a center hub to reduce drag of the filament spool the bearings may be overkill but had them, works much better

That feed stepper and gear probably have enough power to lift the whole machine off the table (the Up’s does) so I wouldn’t worry about a little spool drag. But it’s a very nice bearing in any case :slight_smile:

I never thought about that, but that may be useful anytime you try to print something with rubbery filaments such as ninja and EcoFlex PLA (if temp control is released), great idea.
