Hotend V2 problem (spots, leaking etc.)

Hi there

just had an issue with my V2 hotend (Support case is open): The hotend was leaking on the top where it's screwed to the little metal plate. So I replaced it (300h printing time with my M300) with the one that was in the package luckily and everything is fine again. Funny side-effect: I always had dark spots and marks after a certain printing time right from the beginning with the M300. With the hotend- replacement it's gone... so far...

I'm not so sure... I guess the hotend could be improved...

Every print the nozzle hits the plate a little to set distance... I guess this can lead to weak spots as the one where the plate is screwed to the hotend right?

Zortrax is there a hotend v3 in the labs?

Greetings

John

PS: Support is helping very fast btw!

I did hear from MicroSwiss that they were working on a All Metal Hotend for the M200. But I was also told by somebody else that they have been saying that for a very long time..... would be nice if it happened.

There are also some Italians with their own full metal hotends or modified MicroSwiss hotends. Think I read about this in that Facebook group.

Just sent this to the support:

Hi again Marta

please forward this to your engineering I guess I know what's responsible for breaking the hotend and I guess there will be many other cases in the future if you don't change the initial nozzle hight.

My M300 is well calibrated (do it every 3 or 4 prints) but I think the initial nozzle hight is just a little to small. The first layer gets really pressed into the holes and filament is squeezed together extremely. During the next 2-4 layer the nozzle touches the existing layers always a little bit and this gives high frequent vibrations to the hotend and the whole extruder.

This in combination with small hit on the nozzle during initial hight calibration at every start of a print does harm the hotent pretty much I'm sure.

Greetings

Could you please make a small test and try to print something in the corner of the plate? (any corner, just not around middle square)

I don't have to try I know what happens. Even on the sides it's not the same distance from nozzle to bed.

I already changed the plate but I guess the complete bed is not flat in my case. Or is this with any M300? Is 30x30 probably too large?

I will report to support... here you can hear the vibrations:

Marcin Marta from Support gave me the advice to do an x/y-axis maintenance... I don't think that will help but I will try it anyway.

There's an all-metal version of ZT-HE. Drop me a line if you want one. Now listed as an option in the store.
