How long can you pause?

I have successfully used the pause function in changing the colors and inserting stuff in the print. Works great.

I have a question on how the pause behaves when waiting for longer time before resuming. 

What happens when the printer reaches the level to pause and has to wait for say 4 hours? On longer prints I will not be around to wait for the exact moment to change and continu.

Will the extruder stop heating and can I just wait that time, or will it clog because it stays heated?

Pause waiting forever for user action, clogging will not happen and before resume of print small amount of filament is extruded to remove baked filament and restore correct pressure.
