I'm a new owner of a M200 Plus, and, after installation, I've performed the following firmware updates via USB (firmwares downloaded from Zortrax website) :
- Installation of firmware v1.1.2 ==> OK, everything went well, the "update.zar" file was recognized and installed
- Installation of firmware v1.2.0 ==> KO, it failed, the "update.zar2" file (weird extension ??) is not recognized. I tried to rename it to "update.zar", but it failed too, saying that the file was corrupted.
Do you have any idea why I don't manage to install this firmware version ?
If you are connected with wifi network try to disconnect and then update to 1.2.0 from USB.
Thanks Mark82 for your suggestion, but my printer is not connected neither to Wifi, nor to Ethernet.
From the beginning, I'm surprised that the file you can download, once unzipped, shows an "update.zar2" with "zar2" extension. Is it normal ? Because it doesn't seem to be recognized by the printer.

I tried another usb flash drive, same results....
Thanks for your advice !

Hello Mathieu,
The zar2 format is used since the Firmware version 1.2.0. There is nothing to be worried about.
I cannot reproduce the error you're facing right now. Could you send some picture showing the error message or even record a video with the entire process?
Thanks for your answer. I've redone the process from the beginning, and it finally worked.
What has been different is that I erased all the files that were on the USB plug except the "update.zar2" file, so that it was the only file, and then the printer accepted it.
Thanks for all, I'm now gonna have some fun with it ! :)
I bought M200 plus yesterday and I have the same problem … Impossible to install Firmware 1.2.0 on my brand new M200 Plus. I red what mathieu wrote but it doesn’t work for me. When I start M200 this is page I can see ( photo) but I can’t do anything else in this page … How can I set the wifi bypassing this page? Thanks
Hey there!
As there is no firmware installed on the printer, it’s not possible to pass this page to the printer menu.
Try downloading 1.1.1 firmware version, upload it to the USB stick and try to install it on the printer. You should be able to later update the firmware to newer version.
Please, let me know if it helps.
Marcin,
Same thing happened on my two Inkspires (one here and one in GB) , mine just wodn’t update, and the Brits had to ask for help from a computer wiz. Why when we buy the latest model Marta advises us to go to an earlier version of the firmware? To foreign Partners it sounds - sorry, I am one - like a Polack Joke.
Shouldn’t there be a software bridge for owners of brand new equipment to downoload what they need to the USB lfash memeory, so that we all could go about our own business?
Greetings from sunny Warsaw,
Jurek
