I have a conundrum that I have not managed to solve at all. I have tried every trick I know from all the other printers I have. The lack of control and flexibility, and the generally poor controls offered by the screen and encoder knob interface have made this particularly frustrating to fix.
I have an old M200 with a Mk1 hotend (I think it is a mk1).
The extruder jams on every single print. Sometimes during the raft, sometimes in the actual print, sometimes abruptly, sometimes slowly. I can extrude many many meters of material with no problem using the load filament option. It only jams when it is actually printing however.
It jams and the extruder motor starts skipping. I have to stop the print, unload the filament, then load it again.
This is quite an old machine and I actually took it over from my work because we could not justify paid hours to fix it. We moved away from Zortrax at work because of this issue.
I have tried the following and none of it has worked:
- Sent it for servicing and repairs with my local agents.
- Tried many different types and brands of filaments, including Zortrax materials and others.
- Dried the filament right before printing.
- Replaced all the hot end components several times over, this includes genuine parts and clones, and heat breaks with and without the PTFE liner
- Cleaned everything in a variety of solvents and in an ultrasonic bath.
- Replaced the ribbon cable to the extruder.
- Replaced the extruder PCB.
- Tried a whole array of different print settings.
I am at a loss especially given the poor interface and settings.
Any suggestions or help will be appreciated before I sentence the machine to be harvested for parts as I would really like to have this printer operational.
Thanks!
