M200 initial temp % at 60%

Hello,

I’ve been tackling an issue with my M200 where the extruder fails to heat. Everytime I begin a print from cold, the printer will begin heating the bed and extruder but the percentage heated jumps straight to 60%, then it’ll change a bit and ultimately error out with an extruder heating error.

At this point, i’ve replaced the thermocouple and heater and the extruder PCB. I’m not sure what to tackle next to correct this issue? Perhaps the main motherboard?

Thank you for any help,
Julian

Hello,

Could you tell me the exact error message and it’s number you are receiving?

Did you check extruder cable connections on both ends - the cable itself can be a problem as well.

Best Regards

This is an extremely late reply but I ended up replacing the main extruder ribbon cable and that solved the issue. Makes sense that over time, with all the flexing, that there is bound to be a breakage in the wire. Thank you @Pawel_Zortrax, you nailed the problem in your response!

Thank you everyone! Happy printing
