M200 X Axis Groaning Sound

Any ideas what might be causing a “groaning” type sound during printing? It does not seem to effecting print quality but given the machine has never previously made this noise I don’t expect its good.

This printer has seen a lot of action but is regularly maintained - bearings / shafts oiled using machine oil, belts have got good tension.

Hi @spacepickle,

The axis motor might be at fault. You can swap them, to check if the Y axis will be affected instead. Also, once you dismantle them - you can check their pulleys manually to check if there is any resistance, as shown in step 7 here.
