Nozzle high performance

Hello guys, i need to print with a M300dual materials like Nylon reinforced carbonium and Nylon reinforced fiberglass with a nozzle 0,4mm.
I know these materials are very difficult to print and also are very abrasives for the Nozzle.
There’s types of Nozzle dedicated for these materials?
I find this, can be the solution?

Thanks

Any updates on this issue for Carbon Fiber Nylon, and similar? Why is there so little definitive information from Zortrax on this? Carbon Fiber Nylon material is a good material and I print with it almost exclusively. I just assumed a machine of this price point would have this issue covered. I suppose I should have been more diligent.

Thanks for whatever information you can provide
Mike

Hello Mike,

we have not tested this material so we cannot provide any information. Still, please note that we have introduced BASF Ultrafuse® materials for the M300 Dual - PP GF30 reinforced with a 30% addition of glass fiber, whereas PAHT CF15 - a 15% addition of micro-carbon fibers. Not to mention Zortrax Full Metal Package enabling 3D printing models made of two most commonly used types of steel: 316L surgical-grade stainless steel and 17-4 PH hardened steel.

As you can see - Zortrax devices are capable of printing industrial-grade filaments. Our specialists are constantly working on providing new materials and dedicated printing profiles. However, if you want to test any external material - feel free to tweak one of the provided external printing profiles, please just note that a steel nozzle or a separate hotend module might be required.

Best regards,
Karolina

The changes to the nozzle and hotend is the primary part of my question. Do I need to replace my nozzles or hotends to print these carbon reinforced plastics? I have not been able to find a definitive answer to this question. The machine specifications is missing nozzle information. It would be nice if that information was included. When I look for replacement nozzles, I find both brass and steel options. Which ones are standard on an M300 Dual?

Hello Michael,

the standard nozzle for the M300 Dual is brass, however, filaments with strong abrasive properties require the steel one. Such information is listed both in the online store as well as on our website:

The hotend modules are actually the same, so you can change the nozzles only. However, if you were interested in printing BASF Ultrafuse 316L (surgical-grade stainless steel) or 17-4 PH (hardened steel) - is it recommended to purchase full Zortrax Full Metal Package which already incudes the module with 0.4 mm steel nozzles. Still, such information is also available in the store:

As for Zortrax materials (Z-ABS, Z-HIPS, Z-ULTRAT etc.) - the steel nozzle is required, no need to use the hardened one.

Best regards
Karolina
