Since I'm a Linux Mint user the only way to use Z-Suite is via Oracle Virtualbox.

Version 1.2.2 was the last version I was able to run with Virtualbox and Windows XP .

While I do not think Zortrax will ever do a Z-Suite version for Linux, it would be nice if at least Z-Suite would still maintain a compability with Virtualbox.

I believe that 1.2.2 was one the latest Z-Suite versions that works with XP at all, since its no longer supported by Microsoft, we cant guarantee that will work either, mostly due to *.NET version.

I have try with Windows 7 Ultimate but no way to run Z-Suite 1.5.0 corrrectly .

I got a mess with video driver apparently .

Something like this :

In VirtualBox 2D and 3D accelleration are active and 256 mb of video memory assigned to the virtual machine.

I have install .net version 4.6.1

Hello, i’ve succeded to run Z-suite 1.0.9 with linux using Wine and it’s as fast than under real windows.

I’ve tried 1.3.0, 1.4.0 and 1.5.0, i’ve à Wine bug !

I’ll try to submit to wineHq développer for patching !

Where i can download 1.2.2 for test ?

On Linux / Elementary OS 0.3.2 (Ubuntu 14.04)

   via PlayOnLinux using Wine 1.9.2,  x64

The older zSuites ran OK under Wine... that SSD corrupted and had to be replaced ;(

v 1.7 gives the following crash

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Zortrax.View, Version=1.7.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.
File name: 'Zortrax.View, Version=1.7.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'
[ERROR] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Zortrax.View, Version=1.7.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.

Any advice?

When I look in the install directory (where z-suite.exe and a bunch of dll's are located) I do not see Zortrax.view

I have the same issue !

using ubuntu16.04

i've tried with latest vbox v5.1.1.14 with 3D acceleration enabled under win7x64

needed to install manually .net framework 4.6.2 to avoid error messages starting z-suite

still when resizing screen or when lateral menu show/hide some parts of the screen are not redrawn

but i was able to rotate, slice then print few models

could be useful to have an hidden function (like F5 was/is used to refresh files list in windows explorer) for a complete screen redraw...

I made several attempts with most of z-suite versions up to v1.7.2.1

guest is W7x64 with 3D acceleration enabled, host is ubuntu 16.04

z-suite up to v1.1  are 1st class citizen, no issue at all, rotate/zoom very fast

it seems that all newer versions containing chromium browser embedded via EO 3rd-party components are having (at least visually) the same incomplete redraw issue
