P1911 Pistol Prop Replica

I've just received my printer on Friday and I'm in love. One of my side passions is doing film and building props so what better way to

test the printer than building a replica of a P1911 Pistol.

This will be printed out in the next couple of days but I'll post my progress as I have more printed.

Be prepared for the wrath... I got grief over just a 45 barrel.....Looks great though!!!!

Lol... No grief... I just think pics like that could be dangerous for our 3D printing community if they get used in the wrong context. I personally don't mind that you print stuff like that in your privacy. I just don't want to have to get a license for my next 3d printer. 3D printing is all over the media recently and reporters always look for exaggerated headlines. And pics like the ones above are the perfect media "ammunition"...pun intended. ;)

Again… I’m with you that the concern is stupid…since a mill and lathe are even better tools to create something functional, but after reading a couple articles about 3d printed guns and “non 3D printer people” asking me if I got a printer just for that (seriously!!!) I got a bit more careful and want to share this concern with you.

nice job

Thank you!
