So I've done 1 print with white Zabs and using the filament load menu didn't work. I looked on forums and resolved that I would have to get to the gear that feeds the filament in which is housed by 4 longer screws facing the front of the printhead and a shorter 5th screw. I loosened these, then realized that I would need to loosen the 2 sides screws. When I did this, it appeared that the mechanism was opened so I started to separate. Thats when this little race bearing plopped out. I can't figure out where it goes back?
I see the old white filmament end stuck in black cast feeding block which I need to remove but until I know where to put the bearing back, I'm stumped.
That little bearing goes in the stepper to the right of where the motor teeth are when you have the motor in. With the motor off, feel the back of the black piece where the motor goes.
There is a screw hole in front that you unscrewed and caused it to fall (on right side of where the filament gets fed through to the motor teeth.
It just sits in the hole and is held by the screw. You will have to hold it there when you put the screw in
Thank you! Heavinly Creations, I figured that must be it and put it back together that way. Thank you for confirming. It's just apositional bearing then for the stepper gear. Was concerned it had a front and back but figured it didn't matter much.
See if I'm still in the woods with loading new fillament. Found the bugger that was clogging the whole. Big pimple..
When you unload pull with gentle force to help it all come out.. I forgot mine today because of a phone call and it did the same thing.. First time that has ever happened.. Had it over a year..
