support fail?

I have the opposite problem.. Support bonds to part on large flat surfaces.. I destroyed a part trying to get it off.... Afraid to even try the top half.. He wants it by Monday.. :(

Time to try Bert's solution?

May have to.. Only have the STL file though and I'm terrible with Mesh software.. Guess I'll try to get the SW files from him..

I Had the same problems with the support for printing the mouse that I posted in the printing room … had problems with both regular and than with light … I hope that the new update will resolve …

Julia which is Bert"s solution?

We'll find out in 4 hours if it works...

You can import STL's into Tinkercad. I also recently bought a program called AutoConverter, which is pretty amazing at converting various CAD formats to each other. 5-day free trial, although it has a nag window every time you open or save.

Thanks Julia.. I haven't played with Tinkercad much. I got it converted in Spaceclaim.. I'm much better with solid modeling.. ;)

Tinkercad's not solid modeling?!?!? More so than any other program I've seen - you work entirely in solids, no starting with 2D stuff and extruding it into 3D.

I think kyle refers to meshes and Nurbs even when tinkercad is "solid modeling" it uses a non Nurbs solution for modeling.

I don't know what a nurb is, so I'll take your word for it :)

Like I said.. Haven't played with it much..  ;)  I do like Designspark as it just FREE Spaceclaim.. Fewer bells and whistles though..

One of the main reasons I hired my technician a month or two ago is that he knows DesignSpark. So far, everything I've given him to do takes him around 8-10 times longer than it would have taken me to do in Tink. Of course that might just be him vs me, I dunno...

My wife said that I'm a nurb.. lol

That might just be him.. but I dunno either.. Doesn't take me long at all..

Non-union rational basis spline = NURBS

I am non-union. But not always rational...

Nurbs are the core of most CAD systems, they are the mathematical representations of everything which is done in the software.

There's a lot of theory around very useful for some cases.

BTW Non-Uniform Rational B-splines ;)

Are you a confederate?
