Warping

Hi

I just brought a 200m and having loads of problems with warping on fairly large prints 20 hours or so the bottom layer lifts every time I’m new to this but really am stuck now using z_ultrat

have you got side covers?

And if you are printing a large thick and flat part, it's more prone to warping.

Also, ABS juice and get your bed as close to level as you possibly can.

Zortrax - would having the ability to add more extrusion to the outer "rings" of the initial raft layer be worthwhile in situations like these?

Yes I have side covers

And I calibrate every time before I use?

I have read the ABS juice, do you need to do the same with different filaments or will this do for all types??

ABS Juice helps only at problems with Raft ? Have you problems with the raft or the bottom layer from your model ?

The raft keeps lifting off the base plate

That's strange.

Normally printed filament should get "glued" very tight on the perforated plate especially whit applied ABS juice (done by factory),

Have you a brand new m200 or an used one?

You can try cleaning the perforated plate using acteone + reapplying ABS juice.

Take care about the connectors; acetone could dissolve the plastic of the connectors.

For a 100% cleaning I'd remove the white plate from it's bracket by removing all the black screws around the border of the perforated plate.

When you put it together after cleaning, just fasten the screws finger-tight!

The printer was secondhand X demo with 94 hrs, and today I stripped the plate, cleaned every hole and rub down with fine paper made some ABS juice and hay presto the raft has not warped so I'm happy again large print running now with no problem.

In my experience these things are important to avoid warping

- print design

- side covers of M200

- print surface clean and rubbed with fine paper

- ( just if needed ) a very thin layer of ABS juice , a thick layer make often things worst.

As an alternative to abs juice I'm sucessfully using Aprintapro Printafix (I'm using this on my other printing system). After ~100 hrs of printing large models, the raft has started to warp aswell. Cleaning nearly all slim holes has ruined a bunch of my wife's sewing pins, so i have to find a better way to clean the plate. After sanding / cleaning the holes, there was still some warp effect. Printafix solved the problem, system is printing fine again, waiting for some white abs and acetone in the meantime...
