Why is there no WLAN MODUL with the new delivery with the v2 noozle?

Try to not turn on each other, we are here to discuss the short comings of this printer. While yes I do like the machine as it stands, I was banking on these new features to be what made this printer stand out from the rest. With the addition of aftermarket mods and other "features" I have added to the printer my self the machine does what I want but having to deal the USB is getting quite old. Overall I am not displeased with the printer but I am not too enthused at all and the joke that has become "Soonday" is past it's expiration date.

Wifi will not be added because of speed, reliability and many other factors this is why at firmware 0.0.6 this option will be removed from menu, new printers come without wifi but information on the website was updated long time before first printer without wifi module was shipped and so far as I know reselers were informed.

Starting from May-Juny printers are shipped without wifi module but with V2 Hot End and sometimes with perforated plate V2.

Thank you Martin for the answer.

So, if I understand, if something is not currently in product spécifications, even if it used to, can I consider it will never appear ? (I think about 50 microns)

So is this the official statement that we will not get WiFi?, Wow so easy to get sweep away a problem. What's next

Octave was not informed about these changes at all, today is the first we are hearing about it.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to ask: If I send Zortrax my useless wifi card, can it be exchange with a V2 hotend ? (and so maybe with a V2 build plate ?)

Thank you Martin for the answer.

Yes you are right, of course many things will appear which are not in specification but to keep things clear current specification is valid. I want to say what will appear in future but somehow some peoples on the forum take this as contract valid from today and expect new things to appear tomorrow. 50microns yes we remember about this and tested it overall no diference between 50 and 90 microns just more overheated places new materials can help.

@Martin,

I have thought about the 50 micron limit a lot over the last year being that I have seen a lot of printers try and fail. What I think (in my strictly non-professional opinion) Is that everyone wants to use the same filament at any layer height. A specialized filament may need to be developed in order to achieve a higher layer resolution. The other end of this could just be that the tolerance that needs to be instilled in the software is not possible with the hardware the M200 has. Meaning that you can make the nozzle move closer to the build plate but you also need to slow down the feed and this is going to cause too much pre-heating of the plastic (look at Drews mod to fix such an issue). adding to this the fact that these belts that are being used will stretch over time and cause some minimal variation not accountable in the overall software at the moment.

While designing Zortrax M200 quality was always a priority for us. We were planning to implement Wi-Fi and as Martin said will not be added because of speed and a lot of problems with lost connections. Latest versions which don't have the module inside won't obviously be able to use WiFi as they were not designed for it (the informations about it was updated on the website, on the beginning of May).

Putting the Wi-Fi case aside and focusing on the top quality of our prints, we've been developing the reliability of the M200 models implementing various hardware and software updates during the past few years, such as: more durable ribbon cable, improved hotend version designed for printing with Z-GLASS and a lots of significant Z-Suite improvements. All of the updates in M200 were free and available for all Zortrax clients and each of them was the next step to achieve the highest quality in 3D prints.

WiFi, 50 Microns and Z-Glass printing along with more announced filament options was part of the M200s products offering at the time I bought my print (in spring).

I could not print Z-Glass, was told by Zortrax to buy a V2 Hotend. I could not get bigger objects printed and was told that a V2 perfboard is far better, so I bought one too.

I could not print any of my cases (for that I bought the printer) in a reasonable quality (compared to other printers) because of the bugs in Z-Suite that are there until today.

So the only thing that's free here is the fraud against customers.

But this i will not buy any longer, instead I will start to teach you some lessons in European consumer rights starting this week.

Forgot the more durable ribbon cable:

It died last night, the black one that is manufactured to die early. Actually no problem I ordered a spare part before but this one (maybe the old one) does not fit because of changed wiring and jumpers.

Sorry but I have to point this out. I like most of the updates to the printer but the extra 80$ hurt.

@Z-Renegade

Please upload file here: http://forum.zortrax.com/index.php?/tracker/ and report a bug. Our programmers always follow data from there and they are more busy by fixing things than reading single forum posts.

@all

Overall we are going to close the thread because everyone going again and again into different fields here.
