Z-Suite 2.8.3.0 Performance TERRIBLE

Condition of the model can affect slicing time. At the moment, Z-SUITE doesn’t have an automatic repair feature for Inkspire, therefore we recommend to make sure that the model is properly designed before slicing it.
We are not able to reveal details about features that are being developed. Our specialists are constantly working to enhance Z-SUITE performance and efficiency. We hope to release new Z-SUITE version with some improvements soon, so stay tuned.

@Marta @Marcin you are aware that this “invalid model” is a problem generated by poor Z-Suite slicing performance of an original model (that I have also attached) in the first place? This is a problem generated by a problem…

If Z-Suite performance was acceptable and it had shell thickness feature there would be no problem at all… please consider improving those two things in the first place as soon as possible.

Performance equals Timing. Material equals Price. Both affect business part of the Zortrax Inkspire implementation in the production environment. If the models are too expensive and too slow to slice/produce noone will be interested in this kind of solution and services - that would be a disaster both for me and you.

I will keep my machine and not ask for refund because I am Polish entrepreneur too and I will keep my fingers crossed for your success because it is also my success. Just remember that my failure is also your failure. I am however really surprised because it is not the first time I encounter this kind of situation in this industry.

I hope that you will fix the problems very soon. Please also consider supporting the #OpenSource. That would give a lot more possibilities for the whole worldwide community and thus your possible customers

I updated to Z-Suite version 2.9 and the performance is greatly improved. Slicing that took 10+ minutes is completing in 10 seconds now. Highly recommend everyone update to the latest build.

Thanks @jbenyeda will give it a try!

Just for a clarification, the Inkspire is a great 3D Printer and amazingly crafted device. It has the “wow” effect since first contact. Very stable and amazingly precise! I did such simple casing with no glitches at first time smoothly to the end

I can confirm there are improvements in 2.9 performance. THANK YOU ZORTRAX! Really good response time! And thank you @jbenyeda for the hint on new release… I did not get or missed an email/update

I have noticed that, in 2.9 (on macOS), even after Progress Bar is full and gone, I still have to wait for some operations to complete. I would prefer to have another progress bar over there just to know / estimate when the operation will end (so I can do something else in the meantime)

Now, the Shell Thickness feature, and we are ready for some bigger productions :sunny:

Great to hear that you are satisfied with the newest Z-SUITE

Regarding the progress bar, I will pass that further.

Thanks @Marta

  • Noticable performance improvements (both in Support and Slicer processing).
  • Slicer is still prone to “invalid models”.
  • Hollow Models with defined Shell Thickness + Infill would be highly desirable for production purposes.
  • Progress bar for asynchronous operations, may be located in one Bottom Task Bar instead multiple Pop-Ups
