We have released a new version of Z-Suite!
This release is a bit more experimental, as it comes with a brand new feature - optional GCode export. This can be enabled on the file export window, and is available for the M200/300 Plus, M300 Dual and Endureal printers.
This, alongside our efforts to bring GCode support in the Zortrax printers, represents our effort to open up the Zortrax ecosystem.
Keep in mind, that the support is experimental, and bugs should be expected - we’ll try to fix them as they come.
As always, here are the changes/new features:
- Experimental GCode export (for MPlus series, M300 Dual and Endureal)
- New materials for Inkspire 2: KeySplint Soft Tinted, KeyGuide, KeyOrtho IBT, KeyModel Ultra Light Grey
- New material for M300 Dual: AiB Metal (single mode)
- Improvements to overall stability and performance
You can download the new version here.
Feel free to share your feedback in this thread.
Very great news!
Is it then right, that the Zortrax machines can also read normal G-Code format?
Also interesting: what are the G-Code commands which Zortrax machines uses for the start an end?
Thank you in advance!
@danielf8e
Yes, there is a version of the firmware that has a GCode support. More info in this thread → [M SERIES PLUS / M300 DUAL / ENDUREAL] 2.7.0 firmware release
To my opinion it’s not needed you open z-suite to gcode, there are plenty of slicers that make gcode with tons of features. You should put your efforts in make legacy M machines compatible with g-code beacuse market is full of used machines given away at ridicolous prices…all those are lost customers
It‘s not about opening Z-suit for G-Code as I understand. ( Importing or anything else)
It‘s about exporting the generated file in Z-Suit as G-Code.
I‘ve not tested yet, but than you can send it directly to your printer via WiFi.
Maybe this is also the first step to get rid of zcode and switch over to gcode.
And I can confirm your opinion. Here in Germany the M200 got really cheap, because they are not supported anymore in the newer developments.
But I think the biggest reason is, that it gets more and more complicated to get spare parts, because nearly no German shop has it directly on stock.
That‘s the same more the newer models up to the M300 Dual.
So it‘s right: Zortrax is loosing a lot of customers, which has been very happy with their machines.
But I‘m really happy that Zortrax opens the ecosystem step by step. @Damian94: great development, please more of these.
If you need beta testers in this case you can contact me.
@Damian94
I did an export of the g-code out of z-suit and opened it with an text editor.
Is it right, that your’r not turn of the bed heating with the end-code?

What I mean is:
for customers who wants a closed system, use zsuite and zcode files.
for customers who wants an open system, use other slicers and work to make machines gcode compatible.
There’s not need to waste time for correct zsuite bugs like the one you mention in this suffering period of the brand.
@robysoldtamiya
I understand. Yes, this is what I can confirm. That‘s why I recently bought a used Zortrax again. Because it‘s just working.
The only thing I‘m that interested in the G-Code support is the opportunity for calibration of external filaments ( heat tower to find out perfect temperature for filaments, since the Zortrax filament stopped being available at the most of german resellers).
Otherwise I mostly just use Z-Suit and even like it more than for example Prusa-slicer, which I‘ve tested some time ago, when I had the chance to borrow the Prusa from my brother.
Z-Suite has a support for external materials already, there is a ton of calibration options in the Advanced tab in the Print Settings step.
@Damian94 Yes, that’s right. But not settings for example set parameters depending on the hight or complexity of the part.
But that’s what you’ve added to Z-Suit 4 beta, I found out. So, I’ll test it there.
