Using Autodesk 123D I created an 8 mm x 12 mm cylinder and then copied it several times. I grouped all the objects and exported them to an .stl file. When I opened the file in Z-Suite only the original cylinder appeared. I tried re-grouping the objects again but the results were the same. Then I opened the file in Meshmixer and all the objects were present. Saved the file as an .stl, opened it in Z-Suit and voila, all OK. Is this a Z-Suite problem or am I doing something wrong?

Instead of selecting the group and using the export selection tool, you should try saving the stl from the menu. choose export stl and then you get a "combine all object into a single objects for 3d print" yes/no popup. this will be ok ;)

That way you can get into trouble easily because Z-Suite sees one big object that is treated according to it's outer perimeters and you often cannot turn or move it anymore all-tough it physically would fit.

Stop using 123D and download Designspark Mechanical.. I started with 123D and never looked back when I found DS Mechanical. You won't have this problem anymore either.. No need to group parts when you save. If you can see it on the screen, it's part of the file.. Easy to learn as well..
