I don’t have a Mac machine, nor do I have an access to Z-Suite’s source code, but since Zortrax fell silent on the issue, maybe I’ll try to help.

BTW, you’ve thrown me for a loop for a moment, because I thought Zortrax had released a Z-Suite for iOS… You’re the second person on this forum who made that mistake, its macOS, not iOS.

Regardless, a trick that might help - locate the Z-Suite app package, right click on it, and from the menu pick “Show Package Contents” option. Then folder should open up in Finder.
Navigate to Contents/MacOS, there you should find a Z-Suite executable (with the terminal-like icon). Right click on it and press Open.
Now a terminal window will show up, and either Z-Suite will either run perfectly well, or it will crash. If it does indeed crash, copy the log from the terminal window (copy the log - don’t screenshot it!) and paste it here.

hello,
thank you to have a look on my problem and sorry for the mistake between IOS and MACOS, I will try to modify my original post.
I have done what you suggest and unfortunately ZSUITE does not start properly. here is the log of terminal :
see following posts. as forum does not allow me to put more than one link in a post I divided log in several posts.

No need for apologies, its just the way Apple likes to confuse and misinform its users - drives me mad sometimes.

Saving session…
…copying shared history…
…saving history…truncating history files…
…completed.

As you can see, its way easier to read that in that way.

That being said… Its unlikely we will be able to troubleshoot this without the source code. There seems to be an issue with the Webkit - Apple library for displaying HTML content - and the content itself, specifically the communication layer/proxy. I’ll need to do some more research.

Could you go into more detail on the issue? Is that only related to 2.32, or does this happen on the latest release of Z-Suite as well?

EDIT: I think I know what happened. Given its an outdated version of Z-Suite (compiled at the tail end of 2021), and that Apple likes to randomly break its system API’s every year, its possible that Z-Suite called something that no longer exists on newer version of macOS.
The only way Zortrax could fix this, is to go back to that version, and try to correct the call somehow… It would not be easy though.

EDIT2: Okay, if your have an ARM based Mac, and the Z-Suite was built on Intel machine, you can try to force it to run through Rosetta, like on this video.
Zero guarantee it will work, but might be worth giving it a shot.

Okay, I went into a bit of a rabbit hole here, and I think I’ve managed to nail down root cause of the issue.

I flexed my reverse engineering muscle a bit, and I’ve found that Z-Suite tries to load up a Terms of Service page in the background, but does it wrong somehow, and it causes a crash.

Once you try forcing the Rosetta, you might try to run Z-Suite after you put your Mac into an AirPlane mode. It should prevent the TOS from loading up and possibly prevent the crash as well.

Zero guarantee it will work as I’ve mentioned before, I do not own a Mac computer ATM, so I’m punching in the dark.

Hi,

I am a newbie and no a Mac user (I am a linux nut):

Did you consider to switch the Zortrax m200 to marlin firmware and use on your Mac a linux based slicer as Ultimaker ?

I am saying that because I already use ultimaker slicer + Zortrax convert from gcode to zcode (which is not optimal). This is why I want to switch to Zortrax Marlin firmware to get a full control of my printer.

Hello
My Mac has an Intel processor so the video for ARM does not apply. I will try to put it in flight mode to see if it works or not.
In order to be able to print I’m currently using prusa slicer and gcode to zcode converter and I have also installed a W10 virtual machine with Zsuite but both solution even if they work are not perfect.
I have also tested the Marvin firmware but the nozzle does not detect the contact with the plate when I tried to launch the print … so I revert to zortrax firmware. If someone is able to print properly with marlin software I am interred on how they do. What slicer to use? Is there any specific option to chose for the Z axis calibration on start?
Regards

Dear mathieuw

Did your consider the idea of LuckyStrike94 on running Zsuite on AirMode able ? What was the result ? I am pretty sure that information could be useful for somebody.

What kind of error you’ve got (error #0XX) ?

Do your printer have a Z-sense or the conventional (nozzle contact the cooper square on the perforated plate) ?

I am still learning on Zortrax 3D printer maintenance…

I’d hate to be “that guy”, but you’re way likely to get help by posting in a relevant thread, or better yet - starting your own. That being said, the Zortrax mod team don’t seem to care, so…

Anyway, if you’re a Linux guy, why don’t you try to run the Windows version of Z-Suite via Wine, or whatever Arch guys are using for that purpose? There is a semi - official guide on that: Z-Suite on Linux - a short guide
The Marlin option seems to be for the tinkerers mostly, if you’re not comfortable with bodging a custom firmware, your best bet will be sticking to the official software and firmware…

Hello,
I have trie to launch ZSuite in flight mode and now it launches properly. Thank you very much for helping me.
have a good day
