M200 Plus will not update Firmware

I have tried all I can think off to update the firmware on my M200 plus

I keeps giving me an USB error, I have tried several different USB’s no difference down loaded the file separately.

“UPDATE ERROR”
“Either the file or the USB flash drive is damaged try to transfer the file again or use a different USB”
I haven’t printed anything yet!
Think I have a bad printer?

It create a folder called “LOST.DIR”

Hi!

I assume you have some older firmware version installed and you want to go directly to 1.4.0. Sometimes it gives such an error. Please try the following:

  1. Install the 1.1.2 version.
  2. Install the 1.2.0 version.
  3. Install the latest version.

Let me know if that helps.

I’m getting this error trying to update from Ver 1-3-2 to Ver 2-1-3. Will I really have to do it one version at a time or will I be able to skip over a few?

Good morning even I can not update the firmware, I download the latest release 2.1.3 on the key supplied with the printer, but it does not keep me going. It tells me that I have the latest version available: 1.1.1
please help me

Hi, you need to install (via USB) 1.5.0 update.zar2 file which can be found in 2.0.0 folder. So the update process should look like that: 1.3.2 -> 1.5.0 -> 2.0.0 -> 2.1.3.

Hi, 1.1.1 is the old firmware. You will not be able to update to 2.1.3 directly. You will find all firmware versions here. Install the following versions in order (via USB): 1.1.1 → 1.2.0 → 1.5.0 (you will find the file in 2.0.0 folder) → 2.0.0 → 2.1.3.

Thanks everyone, I uploaded to 2.1.3. but I can no longer find the Italian language in the latest versions … it is possible

Sorry, it took me a while to get back to this and longer to remember to confirm that this did work as you said. Thank you.

Hi, thank you for the update. I am glad it worked.

Hi, I know this thread is old but I just ran into a similar problem: I have the old firmware 1.1.0 still installed on my M200 plus. Now with the new versions of Z Suite out my printer won‘t print the new zortrax files any longer. I want to update the firmware on my printer, but installing the latest update does not work. Reading through this thread it seems like I will need to update step by step using the older updates first. However, the older updates such as version 1.2.0 or 1.5.0 are no longer available on the Zortrax website. Approximately 2 weeks ago I described my problem on the Zortrax support website form and sent it - but no response from the Zortrax support team so far.

→ Is there any way that you can either send me the “older“ update files or make them available on the website?

Otherwise my beloved M200 plus will be dead…
Thank you so much!!

Hi @felix.w

You should be able to install the 2.0.0 firmware without any issues. Could you give it a try and let me know if it worked?

@DamianZortrax I downloaded the 2.0.0 firmware update, unzipped the folder and copied the update.zar2 file from the 1.5 folder onto the USB drive main folder where all the other folders and *.zcodes files are stored. I re-inserted the USB stick in the printer. After turning on the printer and being in the Launcher mode its display shows me that the current firmware is 1.1.0. When hitting the refresh button it tells me that the latest update is already installed. I rebooted several times but this doesn’t change the outcome.

Any ideas? Greatly appreciate your help with this matter!

@DamianZortrax any ideas of what I am doing wrong? If not, would it make sense to completely erase everything on the USB stick and flash the latest OS onto it? If so, where can I get the OS for the M200 plus hardware?

Yes, you should try doing that. Let me know whether it works. Also, try to keep both 1.5 and 2.0 folders on the USB stick

@DamianZortrax So I manually erased all files on the usb stick using my Mac. Then copied the two folders containing updates 1.5 and 2.0 on the USB stick. Inserted the stick in the printer: still same outcome - no updates dectected, current firmware v1.1.0…

Also tried only copying the update 1.5 on the stick, then both updates with no folder structures; no matter what I do, I always get the same outcome.
any other ideas? thank you!

@felix.w please check your DMs, I’ve sent you a message.

I’m having the same issue as @felix.w

@mwbeauregard Are you also on macOS?

Yes, I’m using macOS
